Manchester United Women vs Reading Women

In the first ever Women’s Super League match screened on Sky Sports, Manchester United Women beat Reading Women 2-0 in an exciting match that featured two of our FORTE players. Lily Woodham played the full 90 minutes for Reading at left back on her 21st birthday. Whilst it was a welcome return for Alessia Russo who made her first appearance in the 75th minute returning to the pitch after a long spell out through injury.
Tottenham Hotspur Women vs Birmingham City Women
1-0
Emily Ramsey had a busy day in goal for Birmingham as Spurs had 19 shots at goal. She made a some great saves and only conceded once as Spurs won on home soil.
Aston Villa Women vs Leicester City Women
2-1
A tight match featured two FORTE players as Molly Pike and Maz Pacheco both started and competed against each other. Molly helped Leicester in the middle of the pitch to dominate possession but Maz in Aston Villa’s defence managed to hold the visitors to the single goal.
Brighton & Hove Albion Women vs West Ham United Women
2-0
Following a red card for one of West Ham’s players, Brighton dominated the match winning by 2 goals. Mel Filis at only 19 years of age started the game in the centre of the pitch, and Lois Joel was on the bench after nursing a knock.
Arsenal Women vs Chelsea Women
3-2
In the first London Derby of the year, the two giants, Arsenal and Chelsea battled it out in front of over 8,000 fans. It was a very entertaining game with 5 goals scored. Arsenal and Anna Pattern saw off the defending champions by winning 3-2. Anna came off the bench in the second half to tighten up the game and seal the win for Arsenal Women.
