The Run & Walk Created all the Talk. A Successful Track Season at FORTE Sports Management
Updated: Sep 7, 2017
FORTE Sports Management (FSM) in it's adolescent years have hit the ground running (pun intended) in building a strong network as their first track season draws to a close. The management agency strives to bring creative imagination to the guidance of athletes by exploring prospects beyond a standard shoe deal. In building close working relationships with athletes, FSM secures opportunities for clients both on and off the track as well as consults on external projects about anything and everything athletics related. The group, along with it's sister agency FORTE Model Management, are elated to publish developments through this feed.
From chasing down Olympian Tom Bosworth in the Olympic stadium to shooting a lifestyle model campaign for footwear company VivoBarefoot, athlete & model Adam Clarke has been busy for FORTE MGMT. Birmingham Diamond League director Spencer Barden spiced up Mo Farah's last track competition on English soil by creating the 'runner vs. walker challenge' which saw Clarke running 1400m on the track in a one-on-one showdown against Bosworth, who walked 1000m. In a bizzare but exciting showcase, the event was broadcast on BBC National TV and commentated by legends Steve Cram and Paula Radcliffe. A vast audience watched with delight and humour as 3.38 1500m man Clarke brought out his imaginary fishing rod down the home straight to try reel in his competitor. Both athletes crossed the line in 3 minutes 28 seconds, with Bosworth just ahead. The novelty event was received as a great success; can we expect to see more of these kind of events in the future? Watch the footage below.
Earlier this year, junior middle distance star Spencer Thomas narrowly missed out on European selection as he placed third at the European Trials. Setting a PB this year of 1.47, the 800m prodigy is destined for a successful career over middle distance as coaching legend Jon Bigg takes Thomas under his wing. In July, FSM attended the European Under 23 Championships in Bydgoszcz Poland, to gain an insight into the future of European and World Athletics. (Disclaimer: it looks very bright indeed).
As the London World Championships bring closure to this year's world athletics, and Adam Clarke's 1500m Brussels Diamond League campaign wraps up track competition for FSM, we are excited to share some news very soon regarding the signing of a young athlete that has the potential to guide the future of British sprinting. Stay tuned!
