Championship Week 12

Lewes vs Sunderland

2-0

Lewes dominated the majority of this game with midfielder Zoe Cross getting on the ball and controlling the centre of the park. They scored early after pressing high and saw their lead double after some great team play. Cross nearly made it three in the second half but saw her whipped effort from outside the box saved. The win sees Lewes and Cross go up to 7th in the Championship.


Crystal Palace vs Liverpool

0-4

FORTE duo of Millie Farrow and Aimee Everett started on the bench against league leaders Liverpool. Liverpool played like a team ready to be promoted and were on fire from the onset, by halftime, it was 3-0. At halftime, Palace decided to bring on Farrow and Everett who had a tough job to attempt a comeback. After a better second half performance, Palace lost 4-0 to a much better side on the day.


Watford vs Blackburn Rovers Ladies

0-0

Last time, these two teams faced off, Annabel Blanchard scored a fine free kick to win them the game, this time, she nearly assisted the opening goal after driving through the midfield before playing a lovely through ball, but her striker couldn’t put the chance away. She came very close in the second half from scoring after a wonderful turn and shot that ended up hitting the crossbar. Throughout the game, Blanchard was heavily involved in the Rovers dominance, but it ended up being a goalless draw with the team sharing the points.


Bristol City vs Charlton Athletic

0-2

Lia Cataldo and Aimee Palmer were in action for Bristol City in this tough match against Charlton. The Addicks came out firing on all cylinders and it proved too much for Bristol City as they lost by 2 goals. The loss sees City drop down to 5th place ahead of their huge fixture against Crystal Palace next week.
