Championship Week 11

Durham Women vs Crystal Palace Women

2-3

Aimee Everett and Millie Farrow started once again Crystal Place in this fantastic up and down game against Durham. Durham dominated early in the first half and scored first but Palace managed to equalize and double their lead from a corner. However, Durham equalised just before halftime from a corner once again. Farrow was in full force in the second half and started Palace’s counterattack for their third and winning goal.

Blackburn Ladies vs Bristol City Women

0-1

Skipper Aimee Palmer who recently extended her contract until 2023 at Bristol City led her team out with Lia Cataldo facing over against Annabel Blanchard’s Blackburn Rovers. It was Palmers corner that caused chaos for the Rover’s defense as Bristol managed to squeeze in the opening goal. City should have doubled their lead following a lovely through ball from Cataldo, but it wasn’t converted. Bristol were very unlucky to not score 3 or 4 goals as they broke through time and time again on Blackburn’s goal but couldn’t capitalize. Blanchard was one of the few bright sparks for the Rovers and was voted their Player of the Match in a disappointing result for her team.

Charlton Athletic Women vs Lewes Women

1-0

Zoe Cross was in action for Lewes in an intriguing mid table battle against Charlton Athletic. Charlton scored the one and only goal of the match after some poor play from Lewes at the back. Lewes had a few opportunities with Cross impacting the game through the midfield, they managed to hit the crossbar but that was about as close they came to equalizing.
